ART ON DEMAND FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO MUSEUM OF MODERN ART

July 16, 2017

Painting to Gogh is loving the new art on demand feature that the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, or the SFMOMA for short, has come up with! The museum has combined the beauty of technology and art, all in one pretty little package! The museum has a project going on through SFMOMA’s Collection API which holds all of the data on it's 30,000+ works of art.  This project lets people text a given number, 572-51, to receive art images! How cool?!

If you want a particular art piece color, you can indicate so in your text! If you want a particular piece that coincides with your mood, just say so! You can include other things like specific subjects and emojis to receive matching art pieces.

The best part about this project is that it doesn’t take away from the museum, it only gives back to you. The SFMOMA has too many pieces to display at one time, so there is no way for everyone to see everything, that’s why this is awesome! To get in on this genius combo, text 572-51 with the words “send me” with a keyword or emoji for your first piece of text art!
