Real Reviews From Real Parents

Here's What Parents Had To Say

  1. Fun family activity!

We did this as a family, my kids were 4 & 5 at the time. We used the digital version, it was easy to follow along and a lot of fun!

  2. The kids loved it

It was easy to follow along, the kids really enjoyed it.

  3. Taught my 6 grandkids

I bought the kids reindeer picture and then taught my grandkids over Christmas. What a great time we all had, looking at their own painting, their brother and sisters, laughing and learning both at each other. Just a great family activity at a great price point! This was super easy for them aged 4 - 12.

  4. Family holiday fun!

Hosted a cousin holiday paint night party and painted these cute Rudolphs. The video instructions were easy enough for the kids to follow and the paintings came out great! Kids were ages 4-9 and some of the adults painted as well. They were so proud of their art at the end. We had a great time and are looking forward to our next video!

  5. Our first attempt

We all had a blast painting with Rudolph for the first time, and the kids absolutely loved it. It was awesome to see them so focused on something that wasn't YouTube or video games. Everyone, from the 6-year-old to the grown-ups, was really into it, so I think we'll definitely be doing more paint nights. They're already asking for another one! We are already quite fond of Lori as an instructor; she is very friendly, easy to follow, and maintains a good pace. We particularly appreciate how she explains the next step before demonstrating it, especially when offering various color options.

Stuff Parents Ask

Frequently Asked Questions

What age is this for?

Most of our kids kits work for ages 6 and up. Each painting page lists the recommended age range right at the top. Younger kids do better with a grown-up alongside, which honestly is half the point.

How messy is this going to be?

The paint is non-toxic and washes off skin and most fabrics. Throw on our apron, cover the table. The palette is disposable, so you toss it when they're done. Nothing to scrub.

How long will it take?

60 to 90 minutes for most kids. The video pauses while they catch up. No rushing, no graded steps. If they want to take a snack break in the middle, that's the point.

What if they get bored halfway through?

Totally fine. The video stays unlocked for two years. They can come back next weekend, or just paint over what they started. The canvas doesn't expire.

When will it get here?

Typically delivers in 2 to 5 business days from our Chicago warehouse, free over $60. Need it sooner? Pick expedited shipping at checkout.

How do I get access to the video tutorial?

Immediately after your purchase, you will receive an email with a unique link to your video tutorial. You can play the tutorial on any internet-connected device of your choice. The link is accessible for 2 years. The video tutorial can only be streamed, it cannot be downloaded.

Where do you ship to?

We ship to all 50 US states and Canada. Need it shipped outside North America? Email customersupport@paintingtogogh.com. The video tutorial works anywhere in the world.

What colors are included in the kit?

The paint colors are customized for the specific painting you're doing. We send the exact palette the artist used, so you get the right colors out of the box without mixing. Generous quantities of each color, plenty to finish your painting.

Are the paints non-toxic?

Yes. The acrylic paints we ship are non-toxic and water-soluble. Washes off skin with soap and water, and off your countertop with a damp cloth.

How do I gift this?

Add a gift note when you add the kit to your cart and we'll hide pricing in the box. You'll get tutorial access by email after ordering. Forward that email to your recipient when the box arrives. Prefer something digital? We also sell gift cards.
